The National Association of REALTORS® advocates every day on behalf of the nation's 1.3 million REALTORS® and 75 million property owners. NAR is widely considered one of the most effective advocacy organizations in the country.
We work for you by advocating for federal, state, and local policy initiatives that strengthen the ability of Americans to own, buy, and sell real property. We also work with you, by providing a wide variety of resources to foster and harness the grassroots strength of the REALTOR® Party.
The office of Government Affairs at Cape Fear REALTORS® brings this advocacy to a local and regional level – monitoring legislative and regulatory issues, developing positions on public policy, encouraging civic engagement through voting, promoting grassroots Calls for Action, and educating members on the importance of the REALTORS® Political Action Committee.
CFR’s Government Affairs Committee (GAC) is made up of 16 members serving to protect private property rights by monitoring legislation and recommending sound public policy initiatives. For more information on joining the GAC, please complete this application.

***Local Political Coordinator Program: CFR members also have an opportunity to serve as LPCs or “Key Political Contacts” to local elected officials. The LPC aka “Local Political Coordinator” or “Key Political Contact” is a member of the Association who volunteers to assist staff and the Government Affairs Committee (GAC) in the assigned municipality by monitoring local issues and maintain a professional relationship with select elected officials.
